Welcome to Gravel Shack

Loosen the cycling shoes, relax and take refuge in the shelter of gravel shack

Norway’s Rallarvagen ends where the Aurlands Fjord begins.

If gravel shack were a place it would be a welcoming Swedish barn, with a warm fire, great coffee and fresh cinnamon buns. It would be at the cross roads of gravel adventures in the heart of Bohuslan Sweden. A place of refuge for weary travellers with stories from a far. A place to inspire those nervously onto their first 10km, or those looking for their next epic bike packing trip.

Have we already cycled past “Gravel Shack”?

What is gravel biking?

The red pill or the blue pill?

Take the red pill and gravel biking can be what ever you want it to be. Turning off the road on any bike to take a path where the asphalt ends. As cyclists have been doing since the dawn of cycling, AKA ‘cycling’.

Take the blue pill, and advertising will convince you that gravel biking is super cool gravel racers on their expensive bikes made of unobtainium and component names design to confuse.

Well done on taking the red pill.

I aim to Gravel Shack a resource and a place to be inspired both the reader and ourselves.

Rallarvegen Norway, some places you just wanna go again.
